Two connected structures

The artist retreat is divided into two towers connected through an elevated bridge. Their design incorporates two different typologies - the first tower consists of modular volumes (of varying single storey and double storey residences) around a central courtyard with a perforated metal screen facade. The second tower incorporates a rhythmical floorplan with shared terraces and bathrooms between the rooms, and consists of single bed interiors.

The elevated bridge connects the double height communal lounge, reading spaces and central courtyard as well as dining spaces. The bridge projects views towards the waterfront as well as providing seated planting.

Both towers provide larger central spaces for informal activity and social connection. The larger shared yet intimately carved out variation of spaces, as well as the porosity throughout the structure, explore the notion of supporting flexible patterns of living.
